Motorcycle Museum Highlights Sturgis Rally Legend's Ride With Steven Tyler
Aerosmith Frontman Will Help Raise Funds for Famed Motorcycle Museum
South Dakota - Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler will be among the celebrity guest riders at the second annual Legends Ride in August. The all-star lineup for the Black Hills charity ride also includes world-class bike builders, cigar aficionados and artists.
The 50-mile motorcycle ride kicks off the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and will raise money for the Children’s Home Society of South Dakota and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame – the two charities chosen by the Kids & Chrome Foundation.
The bike ride, which will be held on Monday, August 3, starts in historic Deadwood and ends at the Legendary Buffalo Chip. The event is presented by the Legendary Buffalo Chip, and sponsored by the City of Deadwood, Anheuser Busch, Inc. Coca-Cola Bottling Co., the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce, Dirico Motorcycles USA, First Western Bank, Interstate Batteries, Metzeler Motorcycle Tires, Progressive Motorcycle Insurance, the South Dakota Pork Producers, Sucker Punch Sally’s and Taser International.
Tickets are available for $150 per person online at legendsride.com or $200 the day of the event – 100 % of all ticket sales will go to the two charities.
“We are excited about the charity ride this year,” according to Christine Paige Diers, executive director of the South Dakota motorcycle museum. “It is a fun kickoff to the Rally and provides a great opportunity to support two great organizations.”
Last year’s inaugural Legends Ride proved extremely successful with riders contributing more than $38,000 to charity.
Along with a tour through the beautiful Black Hills, riders will also be treated to a rider VIP souvenir gift pack, special parking privileges in Deadwood and at the Legendary Buffalo Chip, meet-and-greet opportunities with celebrities, a unique reception and pre-concert party at the Buffalo Chip as well as concert performances by Lita Ford and country music singer Toby Keith.
Finishing touches are still being worked out for the August event, however, organizers believe this year’s ride will be even better than last year’s.
“It is a great event. It gives riders a chance to tour the winding roads, rolling hills and pine trees of western South Dakota while helping to support the needs of youth and preserving motorcycle history in the Black Hills,” stated the executive director of the famed motorcycle museum.
