Thank you for the review of the Cardo Scala Rider Q 2 Multiset. My son and I have used these for about a year and are very pleased with them. We use them for bike to bike communication, plus have them linked via Bluetooth to our cell phones and our Garmin 2820 GPS's. We also use them to listen to our Satellite radios and that is where I want to point out a better way than your suggested method of using a stereo cable from your sat radio to the MP3 input of the Q2.
Your Q2 has a FM receiver built in. Guess what? Your Sat radio has a FM transmitter built in. It is a simple matter of tuning your Q2's FM receiver to the FM output of your radio and you can listen to tunes, etc wirelessly!
Another point is that we found the MP3 input of the Q2 to be practically useless as the volume is way too low to hear at riding speeds. We called Cardo on this and they pointed out that the Q2's volume control has no effect on the MP3 output, only the volume control of your MP3 player. After trying three MP3's, we decided that this feature was useless. No problem though, as we can still listen to the sat radio and if I want to hear some tunes of my choice, my GPS 2820 has a MP3 player built in that can broadcast via Bluetooth to my Q2.
